Join the loveisrespect, National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline Peer Ambassador Program! Do you believe that every relationship should be healthy? Do you believe that young people can impact the levels of dating violence in our country? Do you think the Internet can teach, shape, and impact people?
If so, then becoming a part of a national organization leading the way in working through young people to provide a positive, confidential, and anonymous place for teens to talk about their relationships might be for you. loveisrespect, National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline is specifically designed with teens and young adults in mind, operating around the growing technologies that teens use most often: the phone, the web, and chat (IM-style). But to be true to our mission of providing services for teens by teens and young adults we need help. The Peer Ambassadors will help shape our future by providing information, support, and feedback about what teen dating abuse and real relationships look like in communities, high schools, and home towns. We are looking for a group of young people from every walk of life, every ethnic group, every area of the country, every sexual orientation, and each gender to help guide and keep us true to our mission all while spreading the message that loveisrespect.
After an initial get-together we will use the Internet to stay in touch. Every member of the Ambassador Program must attend a meeting/training/information-sharing weekend in Dallas, Texas with the loveisrespect Leadership Team. Make sure you can join us (we take care of the travel) October 9-11! You have to be able to make this event to be a Peer Ambassador. We will utilize Skype calls, Facebook pages, and Twitter updates to make sure the conversation keeps flowing and that you stay informed. We will support any outreach efforts you make in your hometowns, and put videos, blog posts, or web content up on our online platforms.
