Boston teens have a message to send to Chris Brown in response to the recent apology video he released: your apology is not enough. Teen peer leaders in the Start Strong program decided to speak out as both fans of Chris Brown and young people concerned about the issue of teen dating violence. Angels Against Abuse is a student lead club at East High School in Denver, CO. Their mission is to raise awareness about teen dating violence and educate their peers about healthy relationships. The club plans and sponsors a number of awareness events including assemblies, outdoor events, poster campaigns and fundraisers.
They have been featured in educational videos, local media and recently participated in the making of a PSA in collaboration with the Denver District Attorney’s Office. This year Angels Against Abuse will be partnering with Project PAVE to facilitate prevention education programs in the community. Check out their Sexting PSA below:
I was surfing YouTube the other day and I found this great video:
The PSA is great because it gives an overview of topics that we hear about a lot on calls and chats, and stresses the fact that these situations are no less serious or dangerous because the people in the relationships are teens.
The video was produced by pre-teen, and teenage women participating in the Reel Grrls program, an after school program to get youth involved in media. Way to go, Reel Grrls, keep up the socially conscious work!
