Deaf, DeafBlind & hard of hearing services

Dealing with dating abuse takes a tremendous amount of courage. Relationship abuse is all about power and control, and abusive situations often include various obstacles to leaving including efforts at isolation, intimidation, or insults to lower your self-confidence.

People who are Deaf, DeafBlind, or hard of hearing and dealing with abusive situations face specific barriers to accessing help that may make it harder to reach a place of safety. Providing informed and accurate support requires a nuanced understanding of the ways that dating abuse impacts Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard of hearing communities.

We’ve partnered with the Abused Deaf Women’s Advocacy Services (ADWAS) to ensure Deaf advocates are available 24/7 to answer your call through the National Deaf Domestic Violence Hotline (NDDVH). You can also always reach us by texting LOVEIS to 22522 or through our live chat service.
